Does your dog struggle with tear stains?
-I want to purchase a toy apricot/cream poodle, but I am not sure how prone they are to tear stains.
-I love the teedy bear cut, meaning the face is not shaved. If I let its hair be like that, will I be able to keep tear stains at bay?
-I already have Angel Eyes for my other pets, but I am hoping a poodle won’t get stains as often…

Yes Poodles get tear staining I use Eye Envy all natural tear stain remover and preventer. It has no chemicals and works great. I get it from a lady who has a site on ebay. She is great about answering my questions. Here is the link to her site.

A: Staining can be caused by a variety of things:
Clogged or Shallow Tear Ducts: Studies indicate that 20-25% of small dogs and cats are born with closed of shallow tear ducts. Tears overflow because there the eyelid space is not deep enough to contain them.
Excessive Tearing: When the face hair is wet from excessive tearing, it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and yeast infections (AKA: Red Yeast, which causes deep reddish-brown stains); Low grade bacteria infections may also cause excessive tearing.
Cutting Teeth: Cutting teeth may cause changes in the head & mouth structure of your pet, placing pressure on the tear ducts.
Irritation & Allergies: Some animals get hair or eyelashes into their eyes causing irritation. Many breeds are susceptible to allergies. Shampoos and other chemicals can also irritate their eyesSome foods cause allergic reactions; animals may also build an allergic reaction over time to a type of food.
Water: Water with high mineral levels causes staining
Food & Treats: Diet can play a significant role in tearing. Many commercial foods contain additives, preservatives and food coloring. This could lead to staining.
Fleas: Fleas survive in moisture, which they get from the eye or moth area. This could cause irritation and in addition red stains left behind may be from flea feces. These are just a few reasons. There are MANY more!!
Q: What is Eye Envy so different that all the other products that I’ve bought and don’t work?
A: Eye Envy works at the true problem, a bacteria infection. Eye Envy contains a cleanser, an astringent (to dry the area) and herbal flower extract (acts as a natural antibiotic) and an antibacterial.

Alpaca Teddy Bears, the Special Gift That Everybody Will Love
The alpaca is a typical camelid from the Peruvian Highlands, today there are about 3.5 million alpacas in the Andean highlands, most of which can be found in Peru. There are two types of it:
The Suri alpaca, whose fiber is limp, silky, shiny and lustrous;
The Huacaya alpaca, which is estimated to make up between 85% of the Alpaca population, and has relatively short fiber which is dense, curly and voluminous. The hair covers almost all the body, only the face and lower parts of the legs having a covering of short fibers.
The main features of alpaca meat, which is extremely appreciated in Peru, are its high protein content (21%), its low fat content (4%), its low calorie content (101 kcal) and its low cholesterol level, which makes alpaca meat a healthy and light product in comparison to other kind of meats which have a higher cholesterol level (chicken, turkey, pig, beef, lamp).
Alpacas are popular internationally for their luxury fiber and as pet, show, and investment animals in Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, France, and Israel, as well as the United States.
The alpaca, in its two breeds, the Suri and the Huacaya, is the source of a beautiful fiber, of exceptional brilliance and extraordinary texture, whose fineness varies from 19 microns (Royal Alpaca), 22.5 microns (Baby Alpaca), 25.5 microns (Super Fine Alpaca), to 32 microns (Coarse Alpaca). This unique fiber also offers the largest range of natural colors in the world, which vary from black to white, and extend through an ample range of grays and browns.
The appellation ‘Baby’, for example, is applied to products (tops, yarns, cloth, etc.) where the average fiber diameter is 22,5 microns. The fiber used to obtain this quality does not necessarily come from baby animals; it could easily come from an adult animal with a very fine coat. Each quality is employed to create different products such as cloth, scarves, sweaters, blankets, carpets and so on. The alpaca may also be blended with other fibers, generally of natural origin.
